WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?

That question is often asked by prospective students. We make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals. Each student is unique so we do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. 

A seven year old having their first piano lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up guitar for the second time, after having had guitar lessons as a teenager. 

The main reason to choose us as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.  Our friendly teachers take a student-centered approach to music lessons.

If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you and make a plan that fits  your needs and musical preferences. Your teacher will ask you about your favorite music at your first lesson, and help set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH? 

We teach all styles from classical, rock, pop, jazz, blues, and country. 

 

PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS 

(for ages 4 and up) In our piano lessons we teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music to jazz. Whether you want to learn Beethoven or Alicia Keys, our piano teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano instructors will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but we will also incorporate your favorite songs into your piano lessons. You do not need to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first several  months. Our qualified and friendly piano teachers enjoy sharing their love for the piano with all their students!

 

GROUP PIANO LESSONS 

(for ages 7 and up)  Our innovative group piano program is perfect for those who are interested in piano but may respond well to a more interactive approach and learning with friends.  The classes are fun and motivating.  Learn more about piano classes and watch the video here!

GUITAR LESSONS
(for ages 6 and up) 
We teach rock, blues, country and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Here at Pearland School of Music, your guitar skill and musicianship will grow while you are enjoying your time learning to play!  Each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but your guitar teacher will incorporate the songs you want to learn into the guitar lesson. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring music to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.


DRUM LESSONS
(for ages 4 and up) 
We have a dedicated drum room, filled with technology around the drum set to help enhance the learning experience.  Our drum instructors teach many styles, including: jazz, blues, country, rock, metal, funk, and more.  Drum teachers show students technical exercises that are designed to improve a drummer's speed, accuracy and skill.  Drum language can be complex, but  we break it down so students can understand and use it to improve their playing. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to start.  Beginning students can start with a drum pad and sticks for only $30.

TUITION

Private Lessons: $36.75 per 30 minute private lesson held once a week, $147 per month.

There is a one time registration fee of $30.00
